LEEDS, UK 11th March 2005 - The Ingres User Association (IUA) has
announced the appointment of David Postle as its new chairman. Postle replaces Phil
Parkin who held the position for 4 years.
Postle has been involved with Ingres and the IUA for a large part of his 15
year career in the IT industry. In 2004, Postle joined Luminary
Solutions, a CA partner and systems integration and bespoke development
software house, where he is responsible for its Java and open source
practice.
Postle said, "I see this as a great opportunity. My first conference as chairman
will be in June 2005 and my ongoing ambition is to build on the existing
community to help turn Ingres into the de-facto standard for open source
enterprise scale applications, as well as actively encouraging new members
from the open source community."
