LEEDS, UK 18th October 2003 - Mike Prollins, a leading
figure in the bespoke computer services industry, has joined Luminary Solutions
- the fast growing specialist in systems integration, mobile solutions and
Ingres. Prollins has joined from a management consultancy company.
Prior to 2002, he was a National Manager for CA Services, UK and
Ireland, and was for seven years the Commercial Director of Apertus Systems
Limited. Apertus was acquired by CA in 2000. In addition he was Chairman of
the Ingres User Association for four years and President of the International
Ingres Association.
Prollins will lead the commercial development and account
management aspects of Luminary Solutions.
Neil Warnock, founding Director of Luminary commented "This is a
positive development. As we continue to grow, we need people of Mike's
calibre and reputation in the marketplace. Having worked with Mike for many
years in Apertus I am convinced his contribution will be invaluable".
Prollins said "I am very excited to be joining Luminary at this
early stage in its growth. The business model is right and will ensure that
Luminary makes an increasingly significant contribution to both the bespoke
systems integration and Ingres marketplaces."
Luminary is a systems integration company that combines existing
corporate systems to produce new, integrated applications delivered to multiple
display technologies - such as browsers, PDAs and mobile phones.
The template architecture developed by Luminary ties together
different data sources and application sources and presents it to new back
office and mobile interfaces. The architecture provides secure and efficient
access to underlying databases and applications, whilst existing operational
systems remain unchanged.
In addition, the company works with Computer Associates (CA), one
of the largest software companies in the world, to provide services to the
worldwide installed base of Ingres RDBMS and OpenROAD customers.
